Writing Project Ideas

  1. Write a short biography of the author or discuss a significant event in his or her life.
  2. Summarize the book and review it from a Christian perspective.
  3. Discuss the worldview of the author or one of the characters as reflected in the book.
  4. Write about your favorite part of the book. Explain why you liked that part the best.
  5. Find a song (instrumental or with lyrics) that catches the essence or main theme of the book, and write about how the song mirrors the book.
  6. If the book has been adapted to the Big Screen, compare and contrast the book with the movie. State which one you enjoy the most and why, and/or express your thoughts on whether or not the movie was a faithful adaptation.
